Nellemann Group

100 years of Experience
Although the Nellemann Group, since its inception over 100 years ago, has always been known for its commitment to and deep engagement in the car importer and dealer industries, information technology has actually been an imbedded part of the corporate strategy from a very early stage of technological evolvement.

IT Pioneers
Thus, the history of information technology begins in 1981, when 12 Luxor ABC 80 computers with extended memory were set up to run on a local network.

Today, this sounds trivial, but connecting computers through a network was something that required a substantial amount of pioneering spirit and deep pockets to foot the bill!

Ever since, pioneering the IT frontiers in the automotive industry has been of strategic importance in the Nellemann Group.

Development and Innovation
In 1995, it was decided that Nellemann should divert from the outdated industry standard proprietary IT systems and develop its own DMS platform. The primary reason for this was that none of the existing DMS vendors were able to offer enterprise class IT platforms, which would enable the Nellemann Group to define its own work processes and thus implement its strategy into the operational details of the IT systems.

As a consequence, it was decided to develop a DMS based on the highly flexible and scalable Damgaard XAL ERP platform. This platform was later converted to the successor Damgaard Axapta 2.5 and implemented in stages throughout the group of companies. Today, the entire retail automotive group successfully runs its business on Dealer Management System (MSDMS
) for Microsoft Dynamics AX at a lower cost of comparable dealer groups in Denmark.

Another Danish ERP vendor, Navision, merged with Damgaard in the late 1990s, and Microsoft acquired the Navision-Damgaard company. Hence, Damgaard Axapta became Microsoft Dynamics
AX through this acquisition and is now the flag-ship of ERP products in the Microsoft Business Solutions portfolio.

Steve Balmer
Microsoft Partnership
During 2004, numerous automotive retail companies enquired about the availability of the Nellemann DMS Solution for Microsoft Dynamics AX, and discussions between Microsoft Corporation and Nellemann initiated.

It was then decided to develop a new global ISV with a clear focus on innovating automotive retail. As Infonizer was co-founded by Jacob Nellemann in 2000, and the company was a member of the Nellemann Group, Infonizer was selected as the operating company for the ISV business.

The company is now a Gold Certified Microsoft ISV with a competency in Microsoft Dynamics
AX and Microsoft Business Solutions. We participate in the Certified for Microsoft Dynamics program as well as being a member of the Microsoft EMEA ISV Advisory Council.

Microsoft and Infonizer announced a global strategic alliance in December 2007:

”Microsoft and Infonizer are excited to announce a strategic alliance between the companies. Microsoft will work with Infonizer as a strategic partner in automotive retail, going to market globally with MSDMS- Dealer Management System for Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Infonizer’s DMS solution is delivered as an embedded ISV solution with Dynamics
AX, packaged to fit the needs and requirements of automotive dealers. The product will be certified as part of Microsoft’s “Certified for Microsoft Dynamics” program.

AX through select partners worldwide and will work with Microsoft on market strategy, business development and product planning.

Microsoft is committed to a Dynamics
AX based ecosystem for automotive retail, including the MSDMS - Dealer Management System for Microsoft Dynamics AX. Microsoft is also committed to working with strategic partner Infonizer to add the needed vertical functionality to Dynamics AX. In addition, Microsoft will be working closely with other ISVs with solutions that integrate with MSDMS - Dealer Management System for Microsoft Dynamics AX as well as DMS distribution partners to collectively develop the automotive retail AX ecosystem.”
